Hi, I’m Payel.

a passionate Indian wildlife photographer with a deep-rooted love for nature and storytelling through the lens. I started my journey 8 years ago. My journey began in childhood, watching the mesmerizing worlds of National Geographic and Discovery Channel. Those early experiences didn’t just spark my fascination with wildlife—they laid the foundation for my academic path in zoology and my creative pursuit in photography.

I started photography with a Nikon Coolpix 16MP, capturing whatever caught my eye—purely as a hobby. The Nikon D33100, my first DSLR, marked a significant milestone in my photography journey. It unlocked a world of possibilities and pushed me to explore photography seriously. Over the years, I experimented across genres—landscape, product, portrait, and street—and spent over three years in documentary photography. Each experience sharpened my skills and shaped my perspective. But it was wildlife photography that eventually felt like home. With a telephoto lens in hand, I’ve spent the last two years immersed in nature, observing and capturing the beauty, behavior, and essence of different species. I believe in versatility, both in photography and in life. I love exploring diverse ecosystems, understanding the role of species in their habitats, and telling visual stories that evoke curiosity and respect for the natural world.
